GiPS Beamtime 28.-31. Jan 2010
We measured neutron irradiated Fe-Cr sample. The samples were activated mainly by 60Co to a level of 50 MBq (1.35 mCi).

2010-01-29_01 We built a lead castle for the handling of the activated Fe-Cr samples. 2010-01-29_02 A thick lead glass block allows safe preparation. 2010-01-29_03 Without activated sample still low dose level. 2010-01-29_04 A small Ge detector replaces one of the 100% efficiency Ge detectors to be less sensitive for high energy gammas. 2010-01-29_05 Mike and Marco putting the Ge detector into position. 2010-01-29_06 Workspace in Lab 111d with Netbook and additional large screen. 2010-01-29_07 Laser adjustment for the upcoming beamline of the MePS system in Lab 111d. 2010-01-29_08 New bended tube already mounted for vacuum test with He leak testing system. 2010-01-29_09 Coil for longitudinal magnetic field has two layers of thick Cu wires. One has to be fast. 2010-01-29_13 View through lead glass block... 2010-01-29_14 Sample wrapped in Hostaphan foil already between two Nylon fibres. 2010-01-29_15 Holder in position in the middle of the 6 detectors (4 Ge- and 2 BaF2 detectors). 2010-01-29_17 Single channel rates are extremely high already due to the 60Co activation of the samples. The gamma ray of the GiPS setup raises the rates only slightly. 2010-01-29_18 Maik Butterling is going to control the measurements from the room next to Cave 109. 2010-01-29_19 Control panel of Cave 109 of the ELBE WinCC-System. The beam current of the 20 MEV electron beam is 747 µA.
