01.11.2010: Recent Publication in "Nature Nanotechnology" |
---|
A new kind of data storage allows for an increase of data density by a factor of 400 compared to technology currently available. For the first time, scientists of the Max Planck Institute of Microstructure Physics, the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg [specifically the SFB 762 principal investigators Ingrid Mertig and Arthur Ernst as well as the SFB 762 co-workers Sergey Ostanin and Michael Fechner], and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology succeeded in writing, reading, and storing information in magnetic form on the nanometre scale by using an electric field. The results have been published in the latest issue of "Nature Nanotechnology". Press release of the Martin Luther University |

---|
The figure below taken from a paper of Pavel Ignatiev and Valeriy Stepanyuk (project B8) was chosen for the Physical Review Kaleidoscope and will thus appear on the front page of the journal homepage (prb.aps.org ) for approximately one month (rotating with eleven other chosen figures). The figure was taken from the following publication: P. A. Ignatiev, N. N. Negulyaev, D. I. Bazhanov, and V. S. Stepanyuk |
