Timeline

The scientific programme will start on Monday, February 26, 2018 at approx. 3 PM and will end on Friday, March 2, 2018 around noon. (All times CET)

Accommodation

Accommodation is directly at the conference venue and will be booked by the workshop organiser.

We will contact you in time to clarify your travel dates.

Directions to the conference venue

  1. The nearest international airport is Munich (MUC). Please use the suburban train (line S 8) to reach the station München Ost (9th stop) and change there for trains running to Prien am Chiemsee. The train ride takes approx. 90 min in total.

    If you are travelling by train within Europe/Germany, please use the above link to look up train connections directly to "Prien a Chiemsee" from your respective place of departure.
  2. From the station in Prien am Chiemsee, please use a taxi to Gstadt am Chiemsee    and ask the taxi driver to take you directly to the harbour ("Hafen" in German) (approx. 10 km/15 min, price: 20-25 €).
    Please note that it might well be possible that you can pay the taxi cash only. In any case, please do not forget to ask for a receipt ("Quittung" in German) so we can refund the expenses for the taxi after the workshop.
  3. Finally, take the ferry to reach the island Fraueninsel where the Benedictine Abbey of Frauenwörth    is located. The ferry departs hourly (typically at minute 50) and needs approx. 10 minutes to reach the island.
    You can purchase your ticket at a ticket booth at the harbour or aboard the ship (price: 4.40 € / 5.90 € for a single / return ticket).
    IMPORTANT: In order to benefit from the discounted price for the return ticket, you must specify when buying the ticket that you will have an overnight stay on the island ("Übernachtungsticket").
